Getting Started With GetMoving UP!

GetMoving UP! is a "team-based" fitness incentive program. One way to participate is by logging your fitness activities on the Internet at http://www.fitup.org. Becoming a member of this program and participating using the Internet is easy to do. Just follow these simple steps!

  1. Register as a FitUP user at http://www.fitup.org if you are not already registered. If you've been involved in either the Eat Five or StepUP program, you are already a registered user. Once at this site, click on the "FitUP SignUP" button to set up an account. Once you've registered as a FitUP user, you'll be able to login to FitUP, have access to health related tips and enroll in programs like GetMoving UP!.
  2. The next step is to set up your team. In that GetMoving UP! is a "team-based" program, you need to establish what team you're a member of. Normally your team will consist of people you know, probably fellow employees, family members, neighbors or members of an organization you belong to. The program is designed for teams consisting of 4 individuals. Get your team together, pick a few suitable names for your team and decide who the Team Captain is. The Team Captain will be the primary point of contact for the GetMoving UP! program. It's an easy job, so don't hesitate to volunteer.
  3. Once your team is together, the Team Captain needs to register the Team Name on the FitUP web site. It's easy - just go to http://www.fitup.org and login using your FitUP username and password. After successfully logging in you will be at the "Activity Manager" page of the FitUP web site.
    1. The Team Captain first needs to make sure the worksite or organization that the team is a member of is in the "List of Organizations" found by clicking on the List of Organizations link on this page. Look carefully for your organization in the list - some other Team Captain could have entered it earlier!
    2. If your organization is in the list, drop down to 3(c), otherwise enter your organization by clicking on the Add a New Organization link.
    3. The Team Captain now needs to add the name of your team to FitUP. It's best to check that no one else has already registered the name you picked. Check the List of Team Names link on the "Activity Manager" page of the web site to see if someone else stole that great name you came up with. Enter a team name that is not already in the List of Team Names by clicking on the Add a New Team link.
  4. Okay, the team is together and it's been registered on the FitUP web site. The next step is for the individual team members to enroll in the GetMoving UP! program. The Team Captain should let his team members know when the team has been registered and they can enroll in the program. We're assuming here that the team members are all members of FitUP already; if not go back up to Step 1 in this document. For a team member to get enrolled they need to login to http://www.fitup.org using their FitUP username and password. Once logged in and at the "Activity Manager" page, click on the GetMoving UP! Program link. This will take you to the GetMoving UP! home page. The first time you click on the Log Activity link on this page, you will be asked for your Team Name. Don't worry, you won't be asked each time you come to this page. Enter the Team Name provided to you by your Team Captain.

    That's all there is to it. You can start logging your minutes to your GetMoving UP! log sheet!
