Welcome to the FitUP.org physical activity site! The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is one of the best locations in the world to live, work, and play. It also provides many opportunities to live a healthy life. FitUP.org has been especially designed to assist Upper Peninsula residents to be more fit, eat a healthier diet, and have fun doing it! To access the site, you will need to have your own personal login and password. Pick something easy and keep it all lower case. Here's an example of an easy to remember login name. Let's assume your name is Bill Blank. One method of building login names is to take your last name and preface it with the first character of your first name. In this case, the login name for Bill Blank would be bblank. Your password should be easy to remember, but not easy to guess. FitUP 2008 is an activity based program. This program allows you to keep up to eight months of recording physical activity. 30 minutes a day or more is good to maintain weight and help to prevent disease. If you need to lose weight, 45 to 60 minutes a day will help you reach your goals. The program also keeps track of your fruit and vegetable intake. Five or more servings everyday is recommended for good weight management and avoiding diseases such as heart disease. Special health events and participation at health clubs can also be tracked. Beginning in 2008, we will be repeating the incentive campaigns again. If your worksite needs a worksite wellness program, consider becoming a member of the Wellness Council of the Upper Peninsula.
