How come I am not receiving any FitUp newsletters or emails?
Some Email/Internet service providers see any email sent to multiples addresses as spam and will filter those messages out. Also,
you should go into Account Maintenance on the Activity Manager page and make sure that your email address is correct.
I can't log in!
The program is case sensitive. Make sure that you don't have your caps lock on and that you enter your login information in the same case as you initially created it. For example, jdoe is not the same as Jdoe. If this doesn't help, send off an email to fitup@hline.org for some assistance.
Don't save your password if prompted, and only save a shortcut to the FitUP.or
homepage, not at any point where you are already logged in.

Eat Five What is Eat Five?
Eat Five is a region-wide campaign encouraging participants to eat/drink an average of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily for 5 weeks
this fall. Why?
Fruits and vegetables are low in calories, fat and sodium and high in fiber, folate, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C. People who eat 5 or
more servings a day have half the risk of developing cancer than those who eat only 1-2 day and a lower risk of developing diabetes, heart disease,
stroke, obesity, high blood pressure, cataracts, osteoporosis, diverticulosis, birth defects and chronic pulmonary disease. All participants who
eat 35 servings of fruit and vegetables per week (175 servings for the 5 week period) will be eligible for wellness prize drawings!

StepUP Anytime I go snowshoeing (for about an hour) my pedometer only records about 3000-4000 steps. Should I be recording those steps or use the
calculator (178 steps per minute)? That seems like some awfully fast stepping (3 steps per second!)
The answer is that snowshoeing is more "aerobic" than just walking, thus it provides more steps per minute than general walking. What is
recommended is for you to take your pedometer off and use the StepUP activity chart instead...or you could just subtract the steps your
pedometer recorded. (I personally recommend taking it off, I lost one when I fell skiing!) Do I have to wear a pedometer?
No! Use the StepUp Activity chart (available in the documents section) to find the equivilant steps for various activites. Also, it is
permissible to use your daily baseline step total and add it to your activity from the StepUP Activity chart. You just won't be able to
get the bonus steps that are recorded when you park your car further away, or walk during breaks. What if I want to keep going after eight weeks?
Great! After the statistics have been gathered you can erase your step totals and start a new eight week program. Just be sure to print the
page after you complete the initial eight weeks. This will allow you to keep track of your progress from the beginning. My pedometer doesn't seem to be working!
What I think happens is that if you wear loose fitting clothing, the step motion is not recorded all the time so it appears that the pedometer
isn't working. Most pedometers have this problem, even more expensive ones. Does this mean you can't wear skirts or loose fitting sweat pants?
No, but what you should do is to record your daily average for that week on the day(s) that the pedometer doesn't seem to record right. If you
bought the pedometer from us and it doesn't record any steps at all, won't reset, or is broken, I can replace it free of charge!
